+ AC:2002 Safety of Toys,
Migration of Certain Elements The migration of toxic elements
from toys (excluding modeling clay / finger paint) should not exceed the
following limits: -
Antimony (Sb): 60 ppm -
Arsenic (As): 25 ppm -
Barium (Ba): 1000 ppm -
Cadmium (Cd): 75 ppm -
Chromium (Cr): 60 ppm -
Lead (Pb): 90 ppm -
Mercury (Hg): 60 ppm -
Selenium (Se): 500 ppm The migration of toxic elements
from modeling clay / finger paint should not
exceed the following limits: -
Antimony (Sb): 60 ppm -
Arsenic (As): 25 ppm -
Barium (Ba): 250 ppm -
Cadmium (Cd): 50 ppm -
Chromium (Cr): 25 ppm -
Lead (Pb): 90 ppm -
Mercury (Hg): 25 ppm -
Selenium (Se): 500 ppm Remarks: mg/kg = milligrams per kilogram (ppm = parts per million) Note: Toys intended for children
of ages over 6 years are exempt from EN 71-3. However, toys intended to be
placed in (or close to) the mouth (e.g. pencils) are not exempt, even if they
are intended for children of ages over 6 years.
