Pharmacopoeia (or British Pharmacopoeia) To minimize potential hazards posed to product users regarding microbial contamination / efficacy of antimicrobial preservation, unstable substances (e.g. liquid, gel, powder…etc.) used in consumer products may be assessed using the criterias in European Pharmacopoeia: Microbial Contamination – European Pharmacopoeia 5th edition Chapter 2.6.12 and 2.6.13 / British Pharmacopoeia 2004 Appendix XVI B.2 and XVI B.1 Efficacy of Antimicrobial Preservation – European Pharmacopoeia 5th edition Chapter 5.1.3 / British Pharmacopoeia 2004 Appendix XVI C (see remark) Remark: Criteria A as specified in the method is for Pharmaceutical products Criteria B as specified in the method is for Cosmetic product
